Acne and natural ways to treat it
We often receive requests to suggest ways to treat acne in both young and mature skin. Many are tired of strong medications and unsuccessful long-term treatments.
Is there a natural way to treat it?
Summary: acne, causes, treatment
(see detailed article below)
Acne has deeper causes, such as hormonal and psychological. However, skin health also plays an important role. We achieve this with proper daily care with natural products that do not burden our body with chemicals.
Care with natural Mellifora products without dangerous chemicals
First, we recommend daily care, starting with a thorough soaping with Mellifora's propolis and herbal facial soap . Then, gently dry with a clean towel and apply the following:

For red or pus-filled pimples, you will need to apply thick propolis tincture (you apply the propolis tincture to each pimple with a cotton swab and because it can leave a slight yellowish color, we do this treatment during hours when we are at home. Alternatively or additionally, we use antibiotic cream that can be spread over a larger area of the skin (it is also suitable for oily skin).
For blackheads and to maintain a good result, two or three times a week after soaping, we apply the Black Willow peeling , which also comes with a brush so you can give yourself a good massage that disinfects and rebuilds the skin.
With these four products you will have a complete treatment. You will see a great improvement in the problem in fifteen days. If the skin needs hydration, we recommend the day serum for morning hours and the face serum for evening hours. Since you have oily acneic skin, it is better not to use (at least initially) moisturizing creams beyond the antibiotic one .

Causes at Every Age and Natural, Scientifically Proven Treatment Methods
Acne is a skin condition that affects people of all ages, causing not only physical but also psychological discomfort. Although it is often associated with adolescence, it can appear at various stages of life. In this article, we will explore the causes of acne at different ages and present natural methods of prevention and treatment, based on scientific studies. In addition, we will connect these findings with Mellifora 's herbal therapeutic products, which harness the power of nature for healthy skin.

Causes of Acne at Different Ages
Puberty: Hormonal Changes and Sebaceous Glands
During puberty, hormonal changes, especially the increase in androgenic hormones such as testosterone, lead to overactivity of the sebaceous glands. This results in the overproduction of sebum, which, combined with dead skin cells, clogs the pores. This environment favors the growth of the bacteria Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes ), causing inflammation and acne formation.
Adulthood: Stress, Hormonal Fluctuations and Environment
In adults, acne can be caused by:
- Stress : Increases cortisol levels, affecting sebum production [1].
- Hormonal Fluctuations : Pregnancy, menstruation, polycystic ovaries [2].
- Environmental Factors : Pollution, use of inappropriate cosmetics, diet with a high glycemic index.
Maturity: Menopause and Hormonal Changes
During menopause, a decrease in estrogen and a corresponding increase in androgens can lead to the appearance of acne [3]. The skin becomes drier, but inflammatory lesions may increase due to hormonal imbalance.
Natural, Scientifically Proven Methods for Treating Acne
1. Propolis: The Natural Antibiotic
Propolis, a product of bees, has strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that propolis can inhibit the growth of C. acnes , helping to reduce inflammation [4].

2. Salicylic Acid from Black Willow Bark
Salicylic acid, derived from black willow bark, is known for its exfoliating and anti-inflammatory properties [5]. It helps to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells, reducing inflammatory lesions.
Mellifora's Black Willow Peeling offers deep cleansing and skin renewal, utilizing the natural power of salicylic acid.
3. Propolis Tincture: Concentrated Nature
Propolis Tincture is a powerful antiseptic. The high concentration of flavonoids enhances antioxidant activity, protecting the skin from oxidative stress and bacterial infections [6].

4. Herbal Oils and Extracts: Soothing Care

- Honey and Royal Jelly : They have antibacterial properties and promote tissue regeneration [8].
Mellifora's Facial Cleansing Soap combines these ingredients for a gentle yet effective cleansing.
5. Essential Oils with Antimicrobial Action
Tea tree oil has potent antimicrobial activity against C. acnes . A study showed that the use of a 5% tea tree oil gel significantly reduced acne lesions [9].
